You can take a stroll around the property as you admire the fall foliage and breathtaking vista, or enjoy your vino fireside as you nibble on award-winning cheeses. After you’ve had a bite, explore the grounds on a guided horseback ride through the terrain, no experience required. Horseback rides are available through October 31st.
2. Hershberger’s Farm and Bakery LTD
It wouldn’t be fall without pumpkins, and Hershberger’s is the perfect place to find just the right pumpkin, whether you’re making a delicious pie or carving a spooky jack-o-lantern. There are also horse and pony rides for a small extra fee!
3. Fall Festival at the Farm-Walnut Creek
This popular festival runs October 5th through October 20th (closed on Sundays) and features something for everyone! The farm is home to over 500 domestic and exotic animals, most of which roam freely, and there are also numerous barns and two non-electric Amish houses to explore on the property. The festival abounds with fall fun with scavenger hunts, a kid’s maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, multiple demonstrations and of course, an assortment of delicious foods! Check out a blacksmith in action, a candle carving demo, broom making, and basket weaving, just to name a few of the interesting activities you’ll witness when you attend the Fall Festival at Walnut Creek.
4. Live Performances
If you want to take a break from exploring on foot, then a great way to do it is to sit and enjoy an entertaining show! Amish Country has no shortage of talented performers, and you can see them up close in two exciting shows: Seize the Hay – Live Comedy Variety Show and Goblin up the Music – A Halloween Special. Both shows are performed at the award-winning Amish Country Theater, which showcases a selection of knee-slapping variety shows and also features a buffet that serves up delicious homestyle cooking — reservations required! Seize the Hay is performed on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the year, and Goblin up the Music is a special Halloween-themed show that will run on Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 pm.
